End - Med Cruise - 0406 - but we will continue exploring !!
"explorers" in the bowels of the earth in Egypt !
Wednesday – 12th April – On Sea
The most interesting thing of the day was a talk by the captain about the ship. Interesting things learnt:
The ship has 6 diesel-electric engines, which can generate 64MW of power (that’s like a small power plant)
The ship consumes approximately 250 thousand tones of oil every 24 hours
It produces 1000 tones of fresh water daily, using 3 evaporators and 1 reverse osmosis unit
Top sailing speed is 24 knots (1 nautical mile = 1.835 kms)
Thursday – 13th April – End of cruise
